Renewal Fees

Registration dues are collected each year in November for the following calendar year. All scouts pay the required National and Council registration fee plus a small troop fee. Scouts that participate in our fall pie fundraiser do not have an extra troop fee.

What do the dues cover? BSA registration fees are $130 (as of May 2026), this amount is paid to BSA National and Chief Seattle BSA Council, our troop receives none of this money.

The troop fees vary from year to year and cover:

  • Volunteer registration fee ($110 per year per volunteer).
  • Website and domain name fees.
  • Advancement Awards.

We currently are able to supplement most troop operating expenses from our non-profit organization Family and Friends of Troop 498, which is funded through corporate matching of volunteer hours by our members. This allows us to keep our troop fees to a minimum.

Financial Support

Financial support is available from the troop, council, and through our non-profit Family and Friends of Troop 498. It can cover dues, summer camp, gear, and outings. Reach out to the Committee Chair or Treasurer to inquire for your specific needs.
